KORK Sausage

This project started in the year 2004 when I was studying at Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam.
I wanted to communicate my motto “KORK” to broader audiences. As a wehicle for conveying the message I used myself and a piece of clothing.

Background

KORK is an abbreviation from Estonian language “Kõik On Raudselt Korras” which means “Everything Is Definitely in Order”.
Therefore, this alphabet is balancing between chaos and order.

Later I have added some more translations in Russian and German to the series: “Alles ist Sicherlich in Ordnung”, “Всё в порядке”. I have extended the character set to complete Latin and some Cyrillic. The typefont’s poster was exhibited at Brno Biennial in Czech Republic.

Made for easy silkscreen paper stencil technique. Typeface has a modulated baseline. And includes many interlocking letters. You can find many special ligatures like: double R, LL, Ko etc.
